Green Exercise Days

Green Exercise Days are outdoor, educational field trips and/or community service experiences in our gardens. Students on field trips will learn about neighborhood health, urban agriculture, and environmental science, while gaining hands-on experience in the gardens. Corporate or community groups can join us for community service opportunities completing necessary projects at one or both gardens. All events involve teamwork, communication skills, and commitment to a common goal. All participants (all ages) must wear gloves, which will be provided. We will provide supplies, instruction, and leadership.

Testimonials

Brithany

Student

We learned that we should be nice to plants and we shouldnt harm them I like the activity when we painted rocks.

Maya

Student

I learned that the white stuff in the soil (mycelium) makes mushrooms. I like that we get to participate in painting rocks and planting plants.

Gipsy

Student

So far I learned how to use garden tools well. The most fun thing to do is to pick up the trash with the trash pickers. I like that I can help the environment..

Ms. Gamera

Teacher

Something I like about the program is that the students are learning how to help the enviropmentĀ  and keep their community clean. The fact that the kids are actively participating helps develop the motor skills of the kids.
