City Surfers After School

Concrete Safaris' Virtual City Surfers is a 5-day/week after school program for 3rd - 5th graders who’ll learn soft and hard leadership skills in weekly workshops. Then, they will have the opportunity to exercise those skills by completing independent assignments through Google Classroom that will be focused on living a healthy lifestyle and creating new ways to make an impact in their community. Although we will start virtually 5 days per week, we will schedule in-person drop-off days where in small groups participating children will have the chance to apply their learned skills outdoors.

Where & When?

In December 2020, our workshops will return to the outdoors in Jefferson and Washington Houses, local parks, and on city streets as well as at cultural institutions and activities in and around New York City.

What I like about Concrete Safaris is biking, that we have photography and that we go on trips every Friday. We go gardening which I like best of all because we plant and work as a team which helps us with our social skills.
