Register to Vote

You are eligible to vote in New York City if you are:

  • A U.S. citizen
  • A New York City resident for at least 30 days
  • At least 18 years old (you can pre-register to vote at 16 or 17, but you must be 18 to vote)
  • Not in prison for a felony conviction
  • Not claiming the right to vote elsewhere
  • Not found to be incompetent by a court

Vote by Mail

Every registered voter in New York can vote by mail.

Election Day

Polls are open on Election Day from 6am-9pm.
