Meet at 300 East 115th Street just east of Second Avenue outside of the Jefferson Houses Management Office. If you arrive after the start time for this event and do not see anyone, meet us in the gardens around the basketball courts just south of this office between First and Second Avenues and 115th and 113th Streets. These gardens cannot be seen from the meeting point.

Join Concrete Safaris for our Garden Volunteer Session to spruce up our gardens! We will be doing a variety of garden maintenance activities that consist of repairing raised beds, shoveling topsoil, planting herbs, vegetables, fruits, and flowers, spreading mulch, picking up trash, weeding, and more. Dress in layers and bring a water bottle. Activities vary.

WHAT: Volunteers will help with garden maintenance activities at Jefferson Gardens such as spreading wood chips, shoveling compost, removing weeds, raking, trash removal, and more.

BRING WITH YOU: Please wear comfortable clothes, proper footwear, preferably work boots or sturdy sneakers, and bring a reusable water bottle. Food will not be provided, so bring a bagged lunch or order from one of East Harlem’s amazing local eateries. The event will take place rain or shine so please dress for the weather!
